Love you Ikey
Thought I’d share my experience meeting Ikey.
It was at The Mars Volta’s 2009 tour at House of Blues Cleveland. October 16th, if I’m not mistaken. I was with a few friends and we had eaten at the HoB’s restaurant beforehand so we got to cut through backstage to get into the venue before the masses showed up. Usually such backstage trips are uneventful, but this time was different. As we were walking through, Ikey came out of the bathroom, and of course we yelled, “Ikey!” He came over and shook our hands. Having just washed his hands, they were wet, and he assured us, “It’s not piss, I swear!” Then he handed us business cards for his solo project, Free Moral Agents, pictured above.
Cool dude, excellent sense of humor, phenomenal musician. RIP.
Thank you for the heads up! Can’t wait to read your experience with Ikey. If you @ us we get an actual notification!
